Slow down!
Well today my friend Luke Grigg came home from his exchange in Peru. I found myself reading his posts about how much he already misses Peru, and I found myself tearing up. It hits me more and more each day that I'll be in his shoes in a little over a year.
The pieces for my exchange keep falling into place. I know both my host families, my school, my sponsoring clubs and most importantly my city! I will most definitely be going to the city of Izmir which sits on the coast of Turkey. It is a huge city (the third largest in Turkey), and I'm not quite sure how to digest that fact. After living in a very small town for 9 year, and then living in Quincy (also fairly small) for 4 year, I think a city of 3.5 million is going to take a bit of getting used to.

I also know that I will not be leaving before August 25th. I have almost
2 months left in the U.S. but I still feel like it is going by much too
fast. With everything that I have going on this summer, the 25th may just sneak up on me.
Another thing: all the Inbounds from this year are leaving!! That in itself signals that my travels are soon to begin. Although I am crazy excited to leave, I wish things would just slow down, because there are so many things I want to do before I go. O well, I guess some of them will have to wait.
Until I hear more, God Bless :)
Monica
